Products, tools & hair accessories

You don't need to worry about buying any hair products for your wedding day as we will come fully equipped with everything to create your desired hairstyle. I always use top quality electrical tools such as GHD straightening irons and Tigi styling products not only so I can create the best styles, but to ensure your hairstyle lasts as long as possible throughout the day. Hair pins and grips will all be colour matched at your trial, along with any hair pieces/extensions you may want.

Hair accessories and veils are a personal choice, so I don't usually supply these but I'm happy to advise on what would be best for your chosen style.

Top tips for your wedding hair

  • Research wedding hairstyles in magazines and online to give you an idea of what you like and dislike

  • Don't be tempted to have a total hair makeover for the big day - your other half won't recognise you when you walk down the aisle and he's marrying you because he loves the way you look now

  • If you have long hair and your dress has straps, hair looks better up, or half-up-half-down so that you can see the detail of the dress

  • If you have finer hair, soft waves can add body, or extensions cut to the same length of your hair may help to create a fuller shape

  • Have your hair coloured between 1 and 2 weeks before your wedding day - this will ensure it's still fresh but calmed down from the inital 'just coloured' look. We offer a full hairdressing service too if you would like to book a pre-wedding cut/colour. Please browse our sections on Hairdressing Services for details.

Makeup is a very personal thing, and many bride-to-be's worry that hiring a makeup artist runs the risk of being caked in products and not feeling comfortable or looking like 'you'. I can completely understand - I too have experienced going to a department store makeup counter, being covered in heavy foundation then persuaded to buy it, only to get it home and find it's 3 shades too dark for my skin tone!

Fear not. My aim is to create a more polished version of the real you, which basically means using products that will make your skin look flawless but still natural, and selecting a colour palette that both compliments your natural colouring and wedding colour scheme, plus the colours you like to wear normally.

Professional makeup products

One of the top rules for creating flawless, beautiful, longlasting makeup is to use the best products on the market.  MAC is a favourite with many makeup artists worldwide, and you'll find a lot of my makeup kit is made of their professional cosmetics range.

There are always a few cult favourites thrown in, such as Nars blush in 'Orgasm', YSL Touche Eclat highlighting pen, and Benetint cheek & lip stain - just to name a few faves.

Fancy a flutter?

OK, so I won't be offering to make you look like Wedding Barbie, but over the last few years more and more brides have opted for some form of false lash to complete their look. There are a few options and lots of lash styles so whatever type of look you're after we'll be able to find something to suit you.

False lash options

  • Semi-permanent - unfortunately I'm not qualified to apply semi-peranent lashes, but many Beauty salons do offer this service. This is a good option if you're wanting lashes to last for your honeymoon

  • Strip lashes - a good option if you want a classic, defined lash and especially works well if you're going for a subtle liquid liner. Temporary.

  • Individual lashes - a popular alternative to strip falsies, creating amazing natural looking lashes with a choice of lengths. Temporary.

Top tips for your wedding makeup

  • Brows should be shaped a few days before the day so any redness has disappeared

  • Professional facials can be a relaxing treat before the wedding, but they can sometimes cause an outbreak initially so if you are planning on having one, it's best to book it in at least a week before - talk to your Beauty therapist for their advice

  • Considering enhancing your skin colour before the day? Spray tans should be done 2-3 days before and if you're having sunbeds, book a course during the 6 weeks leading up to the big day.
